Apart from the contributions made by the member organisations, HORIZONT3000 is mainly financed by public co-financing.


ADC is the public development cooperation agency of Austria. Together with its partners in Africa, Asia, Central America, and East and South East Europe, it stands for reducing poverty, promoting peace and the safety of the people, and protecting natural resources.


The European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO), is responsible for international cooperation and European development policy-making as well as making help available worldwide.


The Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) is a foundation under private law of the people and government of Liechtenstein and was founded in 1965. The organisation carries out bilateral development cooperation on behalf of the government of Liechtenstein and mainly works in rural areas, focusing on education, health, and rural development. In all its activities, special priority is given to promoting women, social justice, and environmental issues. The LED also has maintained long-term partnerships with project partners from Europe, including HORIZONT3000 in Senegal, where it works in rural development.


By supporting sustainable projects and at the same time linking them with the region of Upper Austria, development cooperation considerably improves the living conditions of selected third world countries and raises the Upper Austrian’s awareness of development cooperation and fair trade. The technical assistance programme of HORIZONT3000 receives 25,000 euros per year.
